What are most people looking forward to in the New Year? One can say that this maybe a ‘loaded question’ and most people would ask me to define my question by narrowing it down a bit.  I imagined those reading this post would have had a lot of things come to mind before remotely trying to answer the question.  This is really not a trick question, it is intended to provoke thought; let us focus on the words ‘looking forward to’ as this may help us to arrive at an answer.

The New Year begins with splashes of excitement and the sounds of jubilant music! The usual suspect will be engaged in  a sort of reveling as he or she rings in the birth of a new year.  This is a time when people leave the things past and are looking forward to the future, but for what? They are looking to the future for change in lifestyle and change within themselves.  They are seeking for the real meaning of their own existence with a sense of anticipation and fear! What if the New Year does not bring me ‘good luck’ or fortune, then what? Look forward to the next New Year for better results!  But to most using this strategy, it becomes a ‘roller-coaster-ride’ of life’s up’s and down’s with no real positive change at all.  There must be a better way! From the greatest philosopher that ever lived, the one who designed and created all things in the universe, the only one from whom all life comes, Jesus Christ, the One True God, is this message; “…I am the way, the truth and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me” (John 14:6 KJV).  What are we looking forward to in the New Year? How about the only one who can show us the way, give us the answers we seek and bring about positive change in our lives!  What would life be like if a person can be guided through the coming year by the Creator of life itself? Looking forward to Jesus is the answer for the best years ahead!

“What do you have to Lose?”

There are many things that come to mind when we think of getting rid of stuff. Many people will invest time and energy during the early New Year to lose weight as a part of their resolution while others in far flung regions of the world like Hong Kong, would make it their business to toss out old furniture and clothing to remodel their ‘world’ to a ‘new chapter’ as the new year comes in.  But there is something far more important than losing weight, furniture and clothing in order to ‘acquire’ a new feeling of revitalization.
It’s that powerful! For many years Brazilians have been using it as a Healthful Alternative to cheap levitra pills . The changes of lower hormone are quite higher than males with thin physique-type. online viagra order Passion flower get viagra This herb is mainly employed by the Native Americans to cure hysteria. http://www.devensec.com/rules-regs/decregs306.html cialis on line australia The drug should only be used as a solution for women.

The Word of God explains this materialistic trend of humanity in these words, “For what is a man profited, if he shall gain the whole world and lose his own soul? or what shall a man [humanity] give in exchange for his soul?” (Matthew 16:26 KJV). People will spend all their lives accumulating things to eventually give it away or throw it out in the end and at the same time not be aware of their soul salvation and the sinful nature that has gain so much of what is really damning and destructive. Sin and gaining the world is what humanity seeks to profit, but its the very things that people have to lose in order to gain eternal life and have newness! What shall a man give in exchange for his soul? The answer lines not in the ‘things’ that he has gained over time through various means, its all about sin! If man could only lose the sin in his life and give it to Jesus Christ, the only Saviour of the world, then he would have made the greatest exchange ever. He would gain everything and the life he so longed for!

If God be for us, who can be against us!  This was some of the contents of the apostle Paul’s letter to the saints in Rome (Romans 8:31b KJV).  He addressed the saints of God by saying first ‘what shall we say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?  Paul is clearly talking about the entire body of Jesus Christ, the Church.  The child of God can be confident each day realizing that nothing goes unnoticed by the all seeing eyes of God.  He knows what we experience on a daily basis and has already paved the way for us to walk in, if only we remain faithful to him.  God knows how to protect his people from danger seen or unseen, his holy angels are present with those who fear and reverence his name.

We have nothing to be afraid of in this world!  God promised to be with us to the very end.  I believe Paul was challenging the Roman Christians to formulate an opponent of any kind, whether that person is a champion in philosophical discussions or they may be victorious and prominent as Julius Caesar in military campaigns, all pales in comparison to what God can do for us!  Paul was actually saying, ‘Can you name someone who can pose a threat to God?’   There is absolutely no being, whether they are human or spirit that can challenge our God at anytime or any place!!!
